BUILDING FOR THE LORD

Man's life is like a hammer
And each day another nail-
He may decide to build a temple,
Or for himself, a jail.

His will is like strong mortar -
Each deed another stone -
To build himself a prison,
Or for Christ a higher throne.

There's no such thing as waiting,
The building must go on!
To waste a day is folly -
And the prison gains a stone!

Don't try to blame your failures
On others. Take a stand!
Today's a nail you have to drive
And the hammer's in your hand.

Will you build a temple on the rock,
Or a prison upon the sand?
It's your decision, it's up to you -
The tools are in your hand.

BEHOLD HIS MAJESTY

Shimmering stars of infinite space-
Embroidered hem of majestic robe-
We behold them but can only catch
A glimpse of the skirts of his garments.

He needs but sigh and storms do rage,
He smiles - it's spring again!
He only nods and nations fall,
And even kings return to dust!

Far greater glory, yet we see,
More than robes of majesty-
A tear stained face, a crown of thorns-
Empty tomb, - coming King!

ASK HIM NOW

If you would stand in robes of white,
Someday before the King;
If you would raise your voice in song
As saints, enraptured, sing;

If you would bear His likeness then
And eternal joys possess,
You MUST NOT wait, come humbly now;
Receive His righteousness.

Wait not to greet the coming king,
To ask Him your soul to save,
But ask today, the crucified,
Who came triumphant from the grave.
