SOME GLAD MORNING! Easter week 2007

SOME GLAD MORNING!

We’re often made to sorrow
As we move along life’s way,
And say “Goodbye” to loved ones;
But we’ll shout with joy some day;

When the graves that seem so final now,
Are opened with a shout,
And saints of all the ages
Come rushing, singing out!

See the headstones as they stand there;
Some old, and some quite new;
Then see them on that morning;
Twisted, all askew.

There’s Job! His trials are over,
No more will he sigh!
And there’s Old Jacob, whole again!
He has no withered thigh!

Here’s a man that used to beg,
And over there, a king!
There! That one was a leper!
Now, together, hear them sing.

Saints we’ve never seen before,
And friends of days gone by;
Mom and Dad and all the rest;
Upward, shall we fly!

When the Lord of earth and heaven,
Sounds the trump of God;
We’ll be raised to walk where up to then,
Only angels ever trod.

Such singing and such shouting;
Our burdens all laid down,
When we trade our tears and sadness,
For a song, a robe, a crown!
