THE PRAYER OF THE WEAK

Help me Lord, to never try,
With human wisdom to justify
Words of anger or of wrath
To other souls who cross my path.

Grant me grace to manifest
The love of Christ to others, lest
Some lost soul should see and say,
“Too many ‘Christians’ act this way”

Help me too, when men revile,
To answer with a loving smile,
And bless them Lord, just like you taught,
And show your patience, like I ought.

I’m not your strongest child, I know,
Who tries to serve you here below;
But with your help, I’ll try to be
A help to others, weak like me.
