MY PRAYER

Trials, temptations, on every hand;
O Lord, just give me strength to stand.

Give me courage to do thy will,
When the tempest rages, say, “Peace, be still.”

Help me, Lord, to live for thee,
Who bled and died that I might be free.

When Satan tempts, lest I heed his call,
Uphold me Lord, that I may not fall.

Help me, Lord, and lead me right
That those in darkness may see thy light.

Help me, e'en to rejoice and praise.
When troubles and trials darken my days.

Though in the depths of sorrow, I be pained and sore;
Give me grace, my Lord, to praise thee more!

O Lord, the devil tempts my soul;
But through thy power, I’ll reach my goal.
