ALWAYS THERE

Such promise! Such assurance!
Has the equal e’er been told?
“I’ll not leave thee nor forsake thee!”
And this from God’s own Word!

“I’ll not leave thee in temptation;
In sorrow I’ll be there!
There’ll never be a trouble
But I, your God will share!”

I’ll let you share my victory,
While I bear your defeat,
I’ll never leave you nor forsake you,”
(With Him there’s no retreat!)

“I’ve never yet forsaken one
Who trusted in my name,
Though men have often turned aside;
I, ever stay the same!”

In weakness then, find comfort;
Let your strength, this promise be,
“I’ll never leave you, nor forsake you,
Now lift your cross and follow me!”
