WHO CAN KNOW THE MIND OF THE LORD?
Who can know the loneliness?
For none has ever been alone
Like my Saviour, when the Father
Forsook the dying Son.
Who can know the anguish
Of each tear, when Jesus wept?
Who can know what thoughts were his,
While weary disciples slept?
Who can know the torment
Of the sins his body bore?
Who can know the heart of love
That broke as Peter swore?
Who can know the loving kindness,
(it reaches out to folks like you)
That made him cry, “Forgive them, Father,
They know not what they do!?
I may never know the mind of Christ,
But my prayer shall always be;
Let the mind of Christ in humble love,
Reach the lost through me.
