FIRST THINGS FIRST


C’mon kids! It’s time to get up!
I know it’s still early and cold!
It’s raining outside and your sniffles are worse,
But the best Christmas trees will be sold!


We’ve gotta buy presents and paper for wrap;
So get on your clothes and let’s go - -
I know it is raining, but think of the kids
Who live where they’ve gotta wade snow!


We'll drive to the city and see Santa Claus
It’s less than an hour away -_
Flying reindeer? Don’t be silly!
A helicopter brings him today!


Remember your sniffles, don’t sneeze in his face,
- Maybe your fever will break after while - -
When you sit on his lap, try not to cry;
If you’re too scared to talk, at least smile!


What? Sunday School tomorrow? - -
With your sniffles and all - I don’t know -
It’s a mile across town and with weather so bad -
I think maybe you’d better not go!
