HE KEEPS ME
In mists of early morning;
In noonday’s blazing sun;
In twilight of the evening;
In dark, when day is done;
In midnight’s darkest hour;
In dawn’s first early light;
My Lord’s awake the clock around;
He sleeps not, day nor night.
He shields from hidden danger;
He watches o’er my soul;
He’s ne’er yet lost a child of His,
Though years and ages roll.
Though slumber weighs upon my eyes,
And heavy is my sleep;
My Lord’s awake! He sleeps not!
My weary soul He’ll keep.
