I have decided to share one of his ‘other’ poems with you this week. Edie

MAKING WAVES

Across uncharted, open seas. . . . .
A tidal wave of power,
Rolling, irresistible;
Before him all must bow.

Through the harbor entrance
Slowed somewhat by the shoals,
Still strong enough to rock huge ships;
No end yet in sight. . . . . .

Around the dock the gulls protest
Then settle back to feed. . . . . .
The wave moves on and leaves behind . . . .
Scarce a memory of itself.

Through the shallows, across the marsh,
A few tiny grains of sand
Move unnoticed around small feet;
Eyes and mind are out to sea . . . . . .
Planning tidal waves.
