GOLD, SILVER, AND PRECIOUS STONES
Each servant is set to building a life,
And though his days may be joy or trouble,
He must build with silver, gold and precious stones,
Or wood, hay and stubble.
The way that he builds must be in accord
With heaven’s building plan;
For he builds for all eternity,
And not just a few years’ span.
The stubble, hay and wood, we know,
Won’t stand the fiery test;
So choose the silver and gold and precious stones
And let the world have all the rest.
Then when the final inspection is over
And we stand before the Son
With our silver and gold and precious stones,
We’ll hear him say, “Well done!”
