Christ Died For Our Sins

He visited his psychiatrist,
paid fifty dollars for an hour
of confession on the office couch
to rob sin of it's power

But sin still made it's presence felt,
He had no ease for heart and mind
He gave a lot to charity
Still, peace he couldn't find.

Psychology and philosophy,
big words and phrases wise,
told him, sin is only relative,
in each beholders eyes!

He thought, if this be true, I wonder why
true Christians seem so free
of guilt and shame and nameless fears
like these that bother me?

Then at last, in desperation,
before the cross, he knelt,
and wisdom that no school could teach
was in the peace he felt!

Christ died for our sins. That's the answer
for sin's burdens to be done away!
Just come to the one who died for them
and with His blood, He'll wash them away!

It is as if you wrote about my life. 5 years of struggling and being put on pills to control depression and anxiety and then discovering Christ was the answer. After 3 years I am drug free and happy in my life and in the Church.
