LET ME PRAY!

A prayer from a heart that is broken;
A prayer from abundance of joy;
A prayer for help in temptation,
When the devil starts to annoy!

A prayer of thanksgiving,
For petitions fulfilled;
A prayer that's a song
From a heart that is thrilled.

A prayer for an enemy,
That he might be a friend;
A prayer that my weakness
Might never offend.

A prayer for myself,
That I'll not cease to pray,
But continue to call
On my Lord every day!

A prayer 'cause I'm happy,
Or worried, or sad;
A prayer for strength,
Like I've never had!

Unceasing in prayer
Means unceasing in praise;
Let me talk to my Saviour
The rest of my days.

And when life here is over,
Let my epitaph say;
He was strong in the Lord,
For he knew how to pray!
