WHEN HE COMES
When the Lord returns to earth again,
And the trump of God rings out,
And the saints of all the ages
Go to meet Him with a shout;
Will you proudly go to meet Him
And tell Him all you’ve done?
Will you tell Him how you’ve labored,
And of the souls you’ve won?
Would the point of your departure,
If on Sunday morn He came,
Be from the house of worship
Where people praise His name?
Will the thoughts He finds you thinking,
Be the kind you’ll think up there?
Will the words He finds you using,
Be the kind you’d speak in prayer?
‘Though we don’t know just when He’ll come,
To call forth all His own;
If we live for Him each moment,
We’ll hear Him say, “well done!’
