WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE

Thou hast the words of eternal life;
To whom but thee shall we go?
Though others may try to comfort and cheer,
In their words, no peace can we know.

We may search through the pages that hold all the store
Of the wisdom of wisest of men;
But thou hast the words of eternal life,
And we must turn to thee once again.

Try though we may to satisfy soul,
So that heart will never know strife;
We must ever return to thee, our Lord;
Thou hast the words of eternal life.

Though we seek through the whole wide world of men;
Words of eternal life, we know,
Will only be found with thee, our Lord,
To whom else could we go?
