ALL OTHER HUMAN TIES TRANSCENDING

All other human ties transcending;
Not quite divine, but far above
All the bonds of earthly friendship;
This can't be broken, it's Mother's love!

The cord of life that bound together
Mother and the forming child,
Must, of necessity, be severed,
And the record duly filed.

Yet, still upon her breast, he lingers -
For a few short months, he stays -
Then slowly slips from loving fingers -
Yet, Mother's with him all his days!

For, all other human ties transcending;
A mother and her child don't part!
Though cord of life at birth be severed;
She bears him always in her heart!
