A LAST REQUEST
One more day to serve him;
One more soul to win;
One more opportunity
To make an enemy a friend;
One more chance to weep o’er
One more soul that’s lost;
And one more chance to give my all,
And never count the cost;
One more hour of worship;
One season more of prayer;
One song of praise in the house of God
With his people gathered there;
One chance to take back one remark
That wounded so, a friend;
One chance to say, “I’m sorry,
Let me make amends”;
If I could have just one last wish
When life at last is o’er,
I’m sure I’d find I’ve failed so much,
I’d ask for one life more!
