FAITH’S REDOUBT
When Satan, in his fury,
Comes storming faith’s redoubt
And there’s weaknesses within my heart
And temptations strong, without -
Then, where to turn, How to cope?
Will I fail the Lord again?
These questions rise within me -
Have I trusted Christ in vain?
But, to the stronghold of the Bible,
My soul then takes its flight,
And sheltered in its promises
I can stand my ground and fight!
“Greater is He that is in you,
Than he that is in the world”;
This promise like a banner
Is over faith’s redoubt unfurled!
“Be not afraid”, the message comes;
I read it loud and clear,
And then, no matter satan’s fury,
I know I’ve naught to fear!
For Jesus IS my victory;
He has saved my soul from sin,
And He’ll fight my every battle
As I let Him dwell within!
