HOMESICK
When you feel a little homesick
For a place you've never been,
And you find you're often yearning
For scenes you've never seen.
And you know it's not imagination
But a place that's real, for sure,
Then you know this world may buffet,
But you'll be able to endure.
For we know that all the suff'ring
Of this life, we can't compare
With the glory that awaits us,
When His glory we shall share!
The mem'ry of our 'light afflictions',
Though, grievous now, they seem,
Will then be gone forever,
Like a long forgotten dream.
For we'll then be in His presence,
No more, this earth, to roam;
No more lonesome, homesick feeling
When, at last, we're gathered home!
