UNWORTHY
‘Unworthy to stoop and loose His shoes’
But, ‘suffer it so to be’
If John were this unworthy,
How much more, the likes of me!

Unworthy even to speak His name,
Much less to make it my own!
Unworthy to work in His vineyard
And till where others have sown.

And yet though unworthy, He bids me to come
And follow each step He has trod;
Through baptism’s waters and into His field,
In service to none but my God!

Unworthy in self, but made worthy in Him;
Without Him, unworthy in all;
But cleansed by His blood and obedient,
Made worthy to heed every call.

So ‘suffer it to be so now’
He knows every one of your needs.
Let your real worth be the Saviour;
Just follow wherever He leads.
