HOW LONG?


Impatiently, I waited for
The blessing flow to start;
Meanwhile, thoughts of worldly things
Occupied my heart.


I waited for my Lord to send
A great and mighty shower -
To make me want to sing and shout -
To shake me by His power!


But it seems I waited vainly
And no blessing shower came -
I was just too busy
To call upon His name.


Till in love He pointed out
What I had failed to see -
That while I wander in the world,
He must wait for me!
