WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE



Thou hast the words of eternal life;

To whom but thee shall we go?

Though others may try to comfort and cheer;

In their words, no peace can we know.



We may search through the pages that hold all the store

Of the wisdom of wisest of men;

But thou hast the words of eternal life;

And we must turn to thee once again.



Try, though we may, to satisfy soul,

So that heart will never know strife;

We must ever return to thee, our Lord;

Thou hast the words of eternal life.



Though we seek through the whole, wide world of men;

Words of eternal life, we know,

Will only be found with thee, our Lord;

To whom else could we go?
